Graduate School of China Art Academy is a subordinate institution by the ministry of culture as the national level department of art research and teaching, which has lots of famous supervisors of doctoral candidates and postgraduate students in art study. Graduate School of China Art Academy is the first batch of granting doctor and master degree institution promulgated by State Council, and also the institution of artistic first level subject admitted by State Council. It has 8 doctor degree and 9 master degree’s conferral right, including the subject of art studies, musicology, fine arts studies, design art studies, drama and opera studies, movie studies, radio and television arts, dance studies and literature science. Graduate School of China Art Academy is an art postdoctoral research station which was approved of establishment by ministry of personnel, and also the constitution of application of master degree and professional artistic master degree for equivalent level’s in-service staffs which was approved by the state council. It is allowed to recruit the foreign students assiduously study for artistic doctor degree and master degree which was approved by ministry of education and culture from 2008.             

　　Graduate School of China Art Academy will recruit the foreign students who can assiduously study for doctor and master degree from 2009, and the assessment measure is based on the integrated abilities. The specific stipulations are as fellows:


I. Criteria for Application

i. Be not the Chinese Citizen. Have effective foreign passport. Be healthy, honest, and obey China government’s laws, rules, and school regulations.

ii. Apply for Master Degree should possess the bachelor’s degree, under the age of 40. Apply for Doctor Degree should possess the master’s degree, under the age of 45.

iii. Academic grades, academic level and language ability should achieve for entrance requirement. 


II. Materials for Application

i. Graduate School of China Art Academy’s foreign students’ Entrance Application Form (2 originals), with photos attached in the requirement forms. Application forms download from: http://www.gscaa.cn/；

ii. Certification of degree (graduating students should provide the predicate graduate certification), and it should in Chinese or English, or notarization and its copy, each required one.

iii. Academic score lists of graduate school, it should in Chinese or English, or notarization and its copy, each required one.

iv. Personal statement in Chinese, each one for original and copy, postgraduate should write around 800, and doctor around 1500. The format can be download from: http://www.gscaa.cn/；

v. Two recommendations from professor or vice professor (or staffs at the same position), each one for original and copy. The format can be download from: http://www.gscaa.cn/；

vi. Two copies of HSK’s grades certification, and the original. The candidates have to pass the HSK6 before the entrance of the examination.

vii. The certification of funds guarantee by the bank, each one for original and copy.

viii. Two copies of normal passport (personal information page).


viiii. Personal research results, publications of academic contents and abstracts, and other original research results, each one for original and copy


III. Time of Application

From Sep.15th 2009 to Feb.20th 2009 (except for legally vocation). Delivery materials depend on the delivery time, and the deadline of face to face materials is Feb.19th.

IV. Expense for Application

V. Eligible Candidate Should:

　　The foreign students’ office will scrutinize the applicants on basic qualification. And the application materials will hand in to the graduate school’s training office if you pass the scrutiny.

　　The admission advice will be send before Mar.15th 2009 after the school’s enrollment committee organizing professional supervisors group to audit the applicants’ school resource, major, academic level, morality, and the develop potential in professional field.


VI. Time for Examination

Apr.18th 2009 to Apr.20th 2009


VII. Retest
 
　　The candidates will get the integrated examination in professional level and language ability by the professional supervisors’ group which was organized by school’s enrollment committee.

　　The candidate have to make the report to he retest group, and the contents include personal scientific research experience and results’ introduction, personal views on the application field, and assumptions on personal study and research work.

　　The candidates will be preferentially selected by school’s enrollment committee on the examination, retest grades, and the integrated qualification.

VIII. Matriculation

i. The admission advice will be promulgated before the end of the May.2009 by the graduate school according to the retest results.

ii. The admission notice and visa application form will be delivered by the end of the June.2009 by the foreign students’ office.

VIIII. Time for Enrollment

　　Around the beginning of Sep.2009, and the concrete time depends on the admission notice. The matriculatants have to register in Graduate School of China Art Academy according to the time on the admission notice. The matriculatants have to take the originals of normal passport, Admission Notice, Visa Application Form for Foreign Students, Physical Examination Record of Foreigner, and Analysis Record of Blood to the embassy for the visa, and enroll in the Graduate School of China Art Academy’s foreign students’ office in the set time. The matriculatants have to get the residence permit in 20 days after inbound with X visa.

X. Study Time and Diploma

　　Postgraduate students’ study time is three years. Postgraduate students will get the diploma and master degree if he can get the eligible grades and pass the reply for the master’s paper.

　　Doctoral students’ study time is three years. Doctoral students will get the diploma and doctor degree if he can get the eligible grades and pass the reply for the doctor’s paper.

　　Unqualified person will have the certification of complete course or drop out ahead of the schedule depends on different situations.

XI. Expense for Study

Postgraduate students: 30,000 RMB.
Doctoral students: 40,000 RMB.
